For over eight decades, the house has approached the emerald not merely as a gemstone, but as a living canvas, chosen for the depth of its colour and the mystery of its inner world.

The emerald demands patience. It cannot be rushed: not in its selection, not in its setting, not in the months the house considers a stone before committing to a design. Our master artisans approach each emerald as a singular work of nature, never forcing it into a shape it was not destined to hold.
The resulting jewellery is a seamless dialogue between our storied heritage and a bold, contemporary vision: pieces designed not merely to be worn, but to be inherited.

The jardin, the French word for garden, refers to the characteristic internal inclusions found in natural emeralds. To the untrained eye, they are imperfections. To the house of BDK, they are the emerald's fingerprint, its proof of origin, and its most intimate quality. We have spent eight decades learning to read them.
Only stones whose jardin speaks of exceptional origin and depth are accepted into the atelier. Many are considered. Few are chosen.
